Chesterfield is part of the Sheffield City Region City Skills Deal. This deal means that Chesterfield’s residents will be able to access apprenticeships and training opportunities where they will learn the skills that our businesses demand.
The scheme is focused on job creation and skills, with 4,000 new apprenticeships created across the region and an additional 2,000 opportunities created to up-skill the existing adult workforce to Level 3 (A -level equivalent) by 2016.
Chesterfield’s businesses including small and medium sized firms, will be able to access apprentices as part of the City Deal through the new apprenticeship hub to that they can take on the talent they need to expand.
