Local Employment and Supply Chain Opportunities

Chesterfield has a number of key development opportunities due to come to fruition during the next few years. To help make sure that investment in Chesterfield continues to happen Chesterfield Borough Council has secured funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to deliver the Creating Links project.

The Creating Links project allows Chesterfield Borough Council to take a proactive approach to drive forward the regeneration projects and make sure that regeneration and future investment in Chesterfield continues to take place.  The project seeks to maximise the opportunities available from this regeneration activity for Chesterfield communities by attracting businesses to the area and creating jobs for local residents.

The Creating Links Project aims to:

  • help to create employment opportunities for local people in the construction and operation of the developments,
  • help to facilitate training of local people to enable them to apply for the jobs created and
  • enable local businesses to compete for contracts arising from the development

Tendering opportunity: 4 March and 6 March 2015

Chesterfield Borough Council invites prices for ad hoc void (empty property) and responsive works to the council’s housing stock, at various locations within the borough of Chesterfield, for a period of four years commencing in April 2015.

The council has some 10,000 properties of various ages and, overall, in reasonable condition and the requirement will cover six ‘lots’ comprising:

  • internal works
  • heating
  • clearance
  • decoration
  • storage
  • garden maintenance

Successful bidders will be awarded a framework agreement with the council to be accessed as and when work is needed. To request documents, please email procurement@chesterfield.gov.uk

Please note there will be an open event at the Stone Gravels depot on 4 March from 1.30pm  to 5pm and 6 March 9am to 12pm. This will give suppliers a chance to talk to the procurement team and technical officers that will be working on the contract. You will be able to get advice on the procurement process, what work will be carried out and how the mini competition will work.

You do not need to book, this will be an informal drop in session.
