Drains and Sewers

Since 1st October 2011, in Chesterfield, Yorkshire Water has responsibility for clearing blocked sewers and carrying out repairs to sewers at no cost to the householder, although there will be a small increase in the cost of your water bill. You can contact them on 08451 24 24 24.

This means that for most cases, you will only have to deal with the drain that you use and is located on your property. A number of drain clearance companies offer high pressure jetting which deals with most blockages  the Council also provides such a service at a competitive rate. If you are a housing tenant of the Council you should continue to contact the Housing Repairs hotline to arrange clearance.
