Local Strategy Statement

This strategy work was prepared under legislation then current which required the LDF to be in general conformity with the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) that set a regional and sub-regional context for the preparation of the LDF and gave the appropriate scale of housing for which provision should be made. The relevant RSS was the East Midlands Regional Plan, but that was revoked by the government with effect from 12th April 2013.  The Local Strategy Statement (LSS) now provides the sub-regional context for the Local Plan; Core Strategy and the other parts of the LDF.

This LSS was prepared in the light of guidance published by the Planning Officers’ Society in March 2011.
