The Council commissioned consultants Tesserae Environmental to produce a Scoping Report as part of the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Chesterfield Local Development Framework. It covers four Development Plan Documents (DPDs).
A Sustainability Appraisal is carried out alongside plan preparation and is a process that assesses the environmental, social and economic effects of proposals and policies within the Development Plan Documents. Scoping is the process of deciding the scope and level of detail of a Sustainability Appraisal, including the environmental effects and alternatives which need to be considered, the assessment methods to be used, and the proposed structure and contents of the Sustainability Appraisal Report.
The Scoping Report is available to download and can be viewed at Regeneration reception at the Town Hall.
