Winding Wheel Auditorium  Winding Wheel Ballroom

The Winding Wheel is housed in a Grade II listed building that was previously the Picture House Cinema, built in 1923.

It presents a varied arts and entertainment programme, including West End musicals, comedy shows, concerts, dance, opera and lectures.

The Winding Wheel sits at the heart of Chesterfield town centre, just a few minutes' walk from the railway station and the coach station, and with ample car parking nearby.

Please note that the Winding Wheel and Pomegranate Theatre will only open to the public for events and performances. The theatres are open 60 minutes before a performance so that people can collect tickets booked online or to buy tickets on the day of the performance.

Hiring the Winding Wheel

The Winding Wheel has three rooms available for hire:

  • auditorium (up to 900 people)
  • ballroom (up to 200 people)
  • function room (up to 120 people)
