Grants allocated to four Chesterfield Sports Clubs

Chesterfield Borough Council has awarded around £1,000 grants to each of four Sport Clubs in the Borough.

Chesterfield Athletics Club, Chesterfield Boccia Club, Chesterfield Swimming Club and Colin Deaton Table Tennis Club were all successful in their application to the ‘Clubs for All’ grants programme. ‘Clubs for All’ offers grants to not for profit sport clubs or groups to develop new or existing activities which aim to increase participation in sport.

The grants were presented after the Olympic Torch Relay had passed through Chesterfield at a Civic Reception in the Town Hall by Councillor Donald Parsons, Mayor of Chesterfield.

Councillor Nick Stringer, Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism at Chesterfield Borough Council said: "We’re delighted to award this money to these Clubs and hope it makes a significant contribution to help raise participation in their specialist area."

Applications for grant funding is now closed.
