New hospital facility to create 88 jobs

New jobs to be created at Mastin Moor hospitalA specialist hospital facility at Mastin Moor in Chesterfield is set to create 88 new jobs.  The new facility, run by the health and social care organisation Turning Point, provides services for people with complex needs.   As part of the planning permission for the development, an agreement was put in place to maximise the employment and training opportunities for local people. 



Market Traders welcome rent freeze

An independent panel has reviewed the allowances paid to Councillors at Chesterfield Borough Council.  The review follows a number of structural changes made to the Council’s decision making and scrutiny committees, which came into force after the change of political control in the May 2011 Borough elections.


No rent increase for Chesterfield market traders

Chesterfield market traders to have rent freeze in 2012/13Chesterfield Borough Council has agreed to freeze market stall rents and car boot pitches at their current level for the next financial year (2012/2013).  The Council hopes the rent freeze will go some way to help traders financially during the existing difficult economic times.
