Eligible homeowners and private landlords in Chesterfield are now able to apply for funding to make energy efficient improvements to their homes after we were successful in our bid for further funding from the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme.
The Warm Homes Local Grant scheme is a UK government programme that helps low-income households in England improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
Am I eligible for a Warm Homes Local Grant?
You are likely to qualify for a Warm Homes Local Grant if you meet ALL the following criteria:
- you are an owner-occupier or are a private landlord
- your property has a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F or G
One of the following statements must also apply:
Route 1: you live in one of the eligible postcode areas set by central Government
Route 2: a permanent member of your household receives a means-tested benefit
Route 3: your combined household income is below £36,000 before tax

Please note that registering your interest in a Warm Homes Local Grant does not guarantee that you will received funding. All works are subject to household eligibility, funding availability, and property surveys.
Chesterfield Borough Council tenants
We have also been successful in securing funding through the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3 which will enable us to make energy‑efficiency upgrades to our existing housing stock.
We will be contacting tenants directly if works are planned to their home.
