Join us at the Christmas lights switch-on and market in Chesterfield town centre on Sunday 23 November 2025.
There will be plenty to enjoy in the market place from lunchtime, with a stage show at the Town Hall, and the switching-on of the Christmas lights.
Festivities start at 12 noon, including street entertainment and music, a funfair, and market stalls - the perfect place to stock up on gifts for all the family. There will also be a bauble-making workshop as part of our Merry Baubles trail.
The stage show begins at 4.30pm outside the Town Hall, and the lights will be switched on at 5.15pm. The stage show is in a new location this year due to the exciting regeneration works taking place in the town centre. A British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter will sign the stage show performance.
Following the switching on of the lights, visitors can follow the LED Drummers back to the town centre, to visit Tipi Christmas, the funfair, and market stalls, as well as local shops, cafés and restaurants.
Meet Bluey
Back by popular demand, Bluey will be returning to meet and greet fans in New Square, at intervals from 12 noon to 3pm.
The later meet-and-greet slots are expected to be busy, so come early to prevent missing out.
