Our team needs great communicators who can engage effectively with others at all levels. You will need confidence, in depth knowledge, a delivery mind set and the passion to help make our organisation the very best. You will need to demonstrate previous success in development management along with a track record showing your extensive experience. By doing this to the highest standards you will not only play a key role in ensuring that we continue to meet performance targets but crucially improve the quality of development and ensure development is based firmly on sustainable design principles.

You will handle your own case-load of major and complex applications and appeals.

We are looking for an experienced Planner with strong professional skills, sound planning judgement, a good eye for design, as well as a commitment to customer care. You will be a key post in the Planning team and will assist in the development of colleagues and play your part in ensuring that the Council’s excellent performance record is maintained and that there is ongoing improvement in the delivery of the service.

We deliver a 24/7 Careline Response Service to over 2500 customers, to help them maintain independent living in their own home. This includes the installation and management of community alarms/telecare, managing calls, and arranging for a response or falls recovery service.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Team Leader, assisting in the delivery of the service and setting out its future direction.

You must have excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate and plan services sensitively and effectively with vulnerable people of all ages and cognitive ability, and be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

You will be one of two Team Leaders responsible for the day to day operational management of our Careline Response Service, leading and co-ordinating staff to ensure the delivery of an excellent, efficient, and effective service assisting customers to sustain independent living.

This will include the effective management and direction of the team, setting clear standards and performance targets, identifying areas of development for the team, ensuring the service is adequately staff, and developing an effective liaison with statutory and voluntary organisations.

You should ideally have experience working in a similar or related environment and/or a relevant management qualification, with relevant experience of staff and service management, excellent organisational and leadership skills, experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with local partners and stakeholders.

The two Careline Response Team Leaders will work on a rota basis to ensure that there is a supervisory presence at the office during most normal working days, and also to cover some shift periods outside of this time, including some nights and weekend working.

You must have a current Drivers Licence.

All posts within the Careline Response Service are subject to an Enhanced Level Disclosure with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

CBC200162 - Competency Framework

We are looking for an experienced communications and marketing professional with creative and strategic skills to lead our communications and marketing service.

You will be the council’s lead for:

• Developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies and plans
• Digital communications including website, intranet, videos and social media
• External communications and media relations
• Internal communications
• Reputation and crisis management communications
• Campaigns and events
• Marketing, with a focus on income generation
• Branding

The role involves providing strategic communications advice to senior councillors and managers, managing a team, providing day-to-day co-ordination and acting as the strategic lead across the council for the key areas identified.

It is essential that you have excellent digital communications and media management experience.

You should have experience of managing a communications and/or marketing team and have relevant professional qualifications. Successful applicants should also have experience of planning and delivering successful pro-active external and internal communications work and using digital communications effectively as part of communication and marketing campaigns.

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels are essential.
