Do you have what it takes to help shape a future for our Town Centres to make sure they can survive and thrive?

We want to ensure that our Town Centres remain vibrant, attractive and sustainable places to visit but we know we need to work in partnership and collaborate with our retailers, market traders and other town centre stakeholders to attract visitors and drive footfall.

Working alongside the Town Centre Operations Team and Economic Development Team you will lead on Town Centre engagement activity. You will support retailers to access support and to participate in activities to enliven our High Street.

You will have a clear understanding of the retail environment and the issues faced by this sector of the economy. You will be dynamic, creative, imaginative and possess the ability to motivate and support retail and other town centre businesses to flourish on our High Street.

Job description and person specification

An opportunity has arisen to play an important role in the operation of the Chesterfield Innovation Centres where around sixty innovative and growing small companies are based, employing around 200 people.

The two Centres at Tapton Park and Dunston are a key element in the economic development strategy of Chesterfield Borough Council and operated in partnership with the East Midlands Chamber.

You will be a key holder responsible for locking the centre each day. Your main duties are to assist in the day to day operation of the administration office and the delivery of support services to the tenant companies and their employees. In addition you will assist in the delivery of conference facilities to both tenants and external clients, including equipment preparation, room layouts, refreshments, etc.

You should have good interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, and a flexible approach to work.
