We are looking for an experienced Electoral Services professional to join our elections team on a permanent basis. Customer focused, and performance driven, you will have experience in the conduct of elections and the electoral registration process.

You will assist the manager in the delivery of electoral registration and the organisation of all elections across the borough.

You must be a member of the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) who holds or is studying for the AEA Certificate in Electoral Administration, you will have an in-depth knowledge of electoral legislation and excellent organisation skills. You should also have a sound working knowledge of electoral software (Xpress preferred).

Are you the ideal candidate to manage Chesterfield Borough Councils Commercial Building cleaning service? Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the cleaning service to around 29 separate locations as well as the cleaning services provided for Chesterfield Borough Councils housing stock.

This will involve the ongoing management of approximately 40 - 60 part-time cleaning staff, the recruitment and training of new staff where required and monitoring regular quality audits.

You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleaning standards and customer and staff satisfaction is maintained. You will also be commercially minded and work hard to find us new customers.

The role includes

  • Maintaining regular customer contact and ensuring continuous customer satisfaction
  • Attentive budget monitoring and management
  • Ensuring highest standards of cleanliness are maintained at all customer sites
  • Recruitment and management of cleaning staff
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Planning, facilitating and monitoring ongoing training for site operatives
  • Providing feedback on performance and to take responsibility for managing issues that may arise
  • Ensuring sufficient amounts of cleaning equipment, materials and consumables on site
  • Ensuring customer sites are fully staffed including absence and holiday cover Absence management

The ideal candidate will:

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join a busy stores team to learn on the job skills and gain a recognised qualification

The challenge of the role is to ensure stock levels and materials procured for the Operational Services Division meets the requirements of the service and to provide effective administration support for the stores team.

You will manage the successful exit from Chesterfield Borough Council’s public/private partnership arrangement, insourcing twelve service areas by October 2020. 

You will need to develop a clear understanding of the existing components of the services being insourced, in terms of people, process, technology and budget.

You will act as an interface with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing multiple areas simultaneously and managing commercial risks for the organisation.

This will include analysis of issues such as asset ownership, TUPE liability and the changes needed to operational or administrative processes and structures impacting up to 250 people.

As strong communicator, you will have a proven track record in the management of contract exits, ideally with a local government or central government background. 

You must be proactive and self -managing and have the ability to hit the ground running.  You will advise stakeholders on process, risk, commercial management and future organisational design, facilitating decisions that are in Chesterfield Borough Council’s best interest.
