Chesterfield Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a professional and enthusiastic individual to join its Neighbourhoods Team as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer.

We currently have two positions available:
1 x 37 hours permanent post
1 x18 hours and 30 minutes hours post on a temporary basis for up to one year

Chesterfield Borough Council provides homes and services to tenants across the Borough of Chesterfield. Helping our customers to sustain their tenancy is key to this and we are looking for people to join us to deliver our tenancy sustainment service.

As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will work with vulnerable Council tenants across Chesterfield who are at risk of losing their homes for example due to rent arrears, or mental health problems. The job will require you to provide support, advice and guidance to tenants to help them keep their tenancies.

You will be a customer orientated individual focused on encouraging tenants to successfully manage their tenancy and live independently. You will have experience of providing a broad range of advice and support, know how to apply housing law, and have the skills and knowledge to advise tenants about money, benefits and debt, as these are often the key issues.

The post holders will need a full driving licence and use of a car.

This post is also subject to an enhanced level check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

An opportunity has arisen within our Community Safety and Environmental Health team, with two posts available. You will join a proactive team that is intelligence led to reduce anti-social behaviour and dog fouling within the Borough.

You will be expected to work to a tasking process but also act on your own initiative when appropriate in supporting the councils aims of creating a thriving borough.

We require Sport and Leisure Attendants to work at a modern leisure facility within Chesterfield Borough Council providing lifeguard cover, customer engagement/supervision, cleaning, equipment set ups, membership sales.

You will be a highly motivated, flexible and resourceful individual who can maintain a customer-focused approach to all our Sport and Leisure activities.

You must hold a current National Pool Lifeguard award. Further coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential as we are looking for the right quality of individual.

The post requires regular unsocial hours working including availability at evenings and weekends involving a variety of services and roles provided at all Councils Sports and Leisure venues within the Borough.

The successful candidates will be subject to a enhanced Disclosure check carried out by the DBS service.

The Council’s CCTV Service is currently looking for a committed individual to join our professional team of CCTV operators.

You will be required to monitor and operate the CCTV cameras and associated equipment via the Council’s CCTV control room. You will also be expected to actively engage in promoting the CCTV service to potential external customers as required.

Our control room operates 24 hours each day, and you will be part of a team that works a rolling shift pattern covering days, afternoons and night shifts. Weekend working and Bank Holidays form part of the core shift pattern.

It is essential that successful candidates are available to work all of the shift patterns, currently these are 6am to 2pm, 9am to 5pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am. This will include weekends and bank holidays, as such flexibility is essential requirement of the post.

The majority of work patterns are single crewed, as such being both familiar and comfortable with lone working is required. The successful candidate will have excellent observation, awareness and communication skills.

You must also have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to act quickly and positively, recording incidents and alarms on various computer software systems. Good IT skills are also essential for this role.

Applicants with a current Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) are preferred. Non holders of the licence will be required to attain the appropriate SIA license within three months of your appointment, training to be provided.

This post is also subject to an enhanced level check from the Disclosure and Barring Service and to Non-Police Personnel Vetting.

The Sport and Leisure team at Chesterfield Borough Council are looking to recruit receptionists to both its sports centres to meet the needs of customers and assist them when attending for their activities.

Three vacancies with contracted hours have become available and we are also seeking additional applications to become variable/casual receptionists, that is to work as and when required covering absence of other reception staff.

Candidates must have experience of dealing with the public face to face and over the telephone in a pleasant and courteous manner, particularly when under pressure.

An understanding of excellent customer care is needed and the relevance to the service that is supplied at the sports centres.

We are interested in applications that can evidence ability to work in busy environments and deal with a variety of enquiries from customers.

It is essential that candidates can work with various computer software packages and adapt to others.

Candidates must be prepared and able to work unsocial and additional hours to provide cover for leave/absence, particularly at weekends, and be able to be work at short notice when required.
