VIDEO: Christmas lights switch-on 2018 highlights.
Thousands of people attended the Christmas lights switch-on which took place on Sunday 18 November.
Councillor Amanda Serjeant, Chesterfield Borough Council’s deputy leader said: “Chesterfield Christmas lights switch-on is always a great way for families to come together and get into the festive spirit and it was lovely to see so many happy faces at the event.
“We organise the event each year as part of our commitment to supporting the local economy and thousands of people came to see the lights switched on and also supported local traders, shops, cafés and restaurants.
“It was also an opportunity for the crowds to meet the stars of this year’s pantomime at the Pomegranate Theatre, Cinderella, who were handing out fliers about the dates of their shows and also Father Christmas, who will be in his grotto on the floor above the café in the Market Hall on various days between now and Christmas.”
