Borough and parish elections 2 May 2019

Borough and parish council elections will take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

There will be elections for 48 Chesterfield Borough Council ward members, 17 Staveley Parish councillors and ten Brimington Parish councillors. See details of the candidates standing for election below.

  • The deadline for registering for a proxy vote is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April 2019.

    This is the last opportunity for anyone who knows that they will not be able to get to their polling station on 8 June to put absent voting arrangements in place.

    * If you are not already on the electoral register you won't be able to vote in the local elections on 2 May; the deadline for registering to vote was Friday 12 April. 

    You can still register to vote in the European elections - the deadline is 7 May 2019.

    • The deadline for registering to vote in the borough and parish councillor elections on 2 May 2019 has now passed. If you have not already registered then you won't be able to vote in these elections (you can still register to vote in the European elections - the deadline is 7 May 2019).


    • Apply to vote by post or postal proxy
    • The deadline for registering for a postal vote, or a postal proxy vote, has now passed. If you are already registered to vote you can still apply for a proxy vote, or vote in person at your polling station.
