Membership and course payment questions

What activities are currently available?

From week commencing 9August we will be on a programme to re-engage with all our customers so we can return to activity programmes as they were before COVID-19. For example, both squash courts can be used simultaneously, and casual badminton bookings will return.

Some activities may return straight away whilst others may be phased in over the summer period.

Some other activities that have had a significant change, such as swimming lessons, trampolining and gymnastics, may be adjusted over the summer period to support a gradual and sustainable change. Information on these changes will be sent directly to parents of children on our courses.

Can I just turn up and take part in activities?

Given the advance booking process that we have operated over the past 16 months we will honour this process during the week commencing 9 August.

From 16 August, only activities that required pre-booking prior to COVID-19 will need to be booked.

Other activities that didn’t require booking in advance before COVID-19, such as general swimming and the use of the gym, will not need to be booked in advance. We will still require all customers to check in to our centres as either a member or a registered user.

What is a registered user?

A registered user is a customer that uses the centres without any kind of membership. This is required to help us implement the COVID-19 track and trace system. It will require your full name, phone number, e-mail, and date of birth.

If you are not a registered user then you can become one by contacting either centre on the following contact details:

What should I be aware of when arriving at the centre?

We still encourage our customers to use the NHS track and trace QR codes when entering the centres. These codes are located around the centres.

We also encourage all customers to wear face coverings.

All customers will need to ensure that they,

  • Are not showing signs of Coronavirus when they attend the centre
  • Maintain a safe distance between themselves and other people at the centre
  • Wash/sanitise their hands frequently throughout their visit to the centre
  • Follow staff guidance and the signs on display

Will activities relocate back to where they used to be?

Our plan is to return activities back to where they used to be.

At Queen’s Park sports Centre this means the expansion of equipment into the studio will return and classes that we moved down into the sports hall will also return. However, we will not return all the equipment into the gym as before COVID-19. The equipment we have put into store will remain in place for the time being. This will allow for more space between equipment compared to the gym layout before the pandemic.

What are you doing to reduce the risk of infection?

Whilst It is down to the individual customer to take reasonable personal responsibility when taking part in physical activity we have, in line with the leisure and sport industry guidance, implemented the following:

  • Our staff will be continuously cleaning throughout the day
  • Maintain hand sanitising stations throughout the centres
  • Encourage social distancing throughout the centres
  • Use of signs to encourage social distancing and hand sanitising
  • Customers will be reminded to clean equipment before and after they use it
  • Screens have been installed at our reception points
  • Continue to adapt occupancy levels for specific activities

Will there be any changing facilities available?

Yes, changing and showers will be available. Please ensure though that you continue to follow our guidance when using these facilities, such as socially distancing and wearing face coverings as much as possible.

We are still asking customers to turn up ready to take part in their session to assist in reducing the use of the changing areas.

We would ask that customers change and leave the changing area in a timely manner.
