Coronavirus (COVID-19) - We are now in a national lockdown: stay at home. Find out how it is affecting our services.

Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment

The Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment is a one-off top up grant to support businesses that have been forced to close during national restrictions from 5 January 2021.

The Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment (CBLP) is in addition to the Local Restrictions Support Grant - Closed (LRSG-C).

To qualify for this payment you must have previously been awarded LRSG-C.

How to apply

If your business has already successfully claimed LRSG-C we will automatically pay the CBLP to you - you don't need to apply again.

If you haven't yet claimed LRSG-C and your business has been forced to close due to local or national restrictions, please submit your claim for LRSG-C straight away. The scheme will close on 31 March 2021.

How much is paid

If you qualify, you will receive a lump sum payment for the period of national lockdown from 5 January to 15 February 2021. The amount your business will get depends on the rateable value (RV) of your premises on 5 January 2021:

  • RV £15,000 or under - you will receive £4000
  • RV £15,001 to £50,999 - you will receive £6000
  • RV £51,000 or over - you will receive £9000

This is in addition to LRSG-C payments during the national lockdown, which will be paid for an initial 42 day period:

  • RV £15,000 or under - you will receive £2001
  • RV £15,001 to £50,999 - you will receive £3000
  • RV £51,000 or over - you will receive £4500

Closed Business Lockdown Payment is only paid to businesses that have already qualified for Local Restrictions Support Grant - Closed (LRSG-C). Find out more here.
