Our town centres and high streets continue to be challenged with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Chesterfield Borough Council and Destination Chesterfield are committed to supporting your business through these challenging times. Our Supporting our high street campaign aims to signpost you to the latest advice, guidance and training that is available to your business. We’ve also created some bespoke training to help support you grow your business online.


Chesterfield Digital High Street


The Chesterfield Digital High Street project is here to support businesses to transition into the online world.

It is open to small or micro retail, hospitality or leisure business in the borough who primarily operate from a brick and mortar store in Chesterfield.

Chesterfield Borough Council are funding this project to support businesses and it is being delivered in partnership with East Midlands Chamber.

By signing up businesses will have access to a Digital High Street adviser with specific e-commerce and online skills.

Grants are also available to help businesses with no online presence to set up an e-commerce website, with hosting and further support for a year.

Free membership to Shop Appy

Shop Appy LogoChesterfield businesses can now sign up to the Shop Appy web platform for free. Free membership will last until November 2021.

Shop Appy is a one stop, local, online support platform which enables customers to see what local shops and services have to offer, all in one place.

Many independent businesses Chesterfield have been looking at new ways to adapt and innovative during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Chesterfield Borough Council has partnered with Derbyshire County Council to help businesses take advantage of the fast growing

The Derbyshire Economic Partnership, which is made up of Chesterfield Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and other district councils, has paid the membership fee to the platform, for local businesses. This free membership will last until November 2021.

As part of the Supporting Our High Street campaign from Chesterfield Borough Council and Destination Chesterfield, is a new push to get more Chesterfield businesses to sign up for free to Shop Appy.
