Chesterfield market has been trading for over 800 years and we are always happy to welcome new traders. 

We run a variety of markets throughout the year from regular weekly general markets to the medieval fun day each summer, with stalls from less than £10!

You can trade casually on our general market with no commitment, or apply for a licence and trade from the same stall every week, it's up to you. See our information for market traders below.

1940s Market – Thursday 29 October, 9am to 4pm 

Unfortunatley due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding large evernts the 1940s Market has been cancelled.

Artisan Market – last Sunday of the month, 10am to 4pm

Organised by The Market Co. the Artisan Market takes place once a month and consists of over 80 artisan market traders selling a high-quality range of authentic goods with an emphasis on all that is local, ethical and original.

Autojumble – Monday, 6am to 4pm 

For the sale of motoring memorabilia, old car parts and spares.

Prices: from £10.00

To stand, please arrive at the Market from 6am, stalls must be set up by 10am.

Christmas lights switch on – Sunday 15 November 2020

Unfortunatley due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty surrouding large events, we have had to take the decision to cancel the Christmas Lights Switch On for 2020.

 

Flea Market – Thursday, 9am to 4pm 

For sellers of second hand goods and crafts (see our trading terms below).

Prices: from £17.00 to £28.20

General market ­– Monday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm 

Prices: 

Monday and Friday from £9.70 to £20.10

Saturday from £15.60 to £31.20

Medieval Fun Day – Tuesday 28 July 2020, 10am to 4pm

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the resulting uncertainty around when large-scale public events will again be allowed to take place we have had to cancel the Medieval Fun Day, the event will return in 2021 when it can once again be hosted safely.

Chesterfield Visitor Information Centre will be in touch with traders who have booked a stall and issue refunds where necessary.

Chesterfield Motor Fest - Sunday 16 August 2020

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the resulting uncertainty around when large-scale public events will again be allowed to take place we have had to cancel the Motor Fest, the event will return in 2021 when it can once again be hosted safely.

Record fair – third Sunday of the month, 9am to 3pm 

For the sale of vinyls, CDs, DVDs as well as rock and pop memorabilia.

Street Food and Grooves Festival - Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2020

Organised by Edge Events, there will be an eclectic mix of hot and cold food from around the world whilst picking up some hidden treasures and tasty treats. Wash all that down with drinks in the festival tent and live music from the Sound Bites stage.

Young persons' market – last Sunday of April, June, August and October, 11am to 3pm

Free stalls available for anyone aged between 5 and 25 years old.
