Exhibit With Us
Do you have an exhibition that you would like to display in a Chesterfield town centre venue? Do you have an idea for an exhibition but don’t know what to do next? Are you a local organisation with a significant anniversary to celebrate? Are you a local society looking for somewhere to display your work?
If you want to put on an exhibition at Chesterfield Museum, your first task is to speak to our friendly curatorial staff. You can email them on firstname.lastname@example.org for advice, possible display dates and whether the Museum is the right place for you to exhibit.
Depending on the size of your display, we can offer you the Little Gallery or the First Floor Gallery but you would need to visit the curatorial team at the Museum to discuss this.
Please be aware that you may have to wait for some time, often as much as a year, before dates are available. If your exhibition is time sensitive, please state that in your initial email.
You will be expected to organise and install your own exhibition, although the curatorial team can offer advice. We may also be able to support your display with museum objects which, of course, we would arrange for you.
If you would like a launch for your exhibition, please discuss this with us as early as possible. There may be a charge for staff time.
The Museum focuses on the history of Chesterfield and working with the community on new and different exhibitions is an important way for us to achieve this. In the past, we have worked with Derbyshire LGBT+, the Chesterfield Photographic Society, the National Society of Graphic Fine Art, the Chinese Big Society, Chesterfield Art Club, Derbyshire Law Centre and Chesterfield College. This year we will be working with Chesterfield Rugby Club and the Don Catchment Rivers Trust.
We look forward to working with you.
