Each year we run a programme of temporary exhibitions exploring different aspects of Chesterfield’s past, and a series of events from re-enactments to behind the scenes tours, crafts and storytelling to evening talks.
To offer more and different events, or more ambitious exhibitions, we need your help.
Our customers’ kind donations helped us to put on the Trench Experience exhibition. This was a walk through trench which we built in the Art Gallery. It included sights, sounds and smells to give visitors an insight into the trench warfare of World War One. This was the most complicated exhibition we had ever attempted and, without the support of donations and the stories of local people, we could never have achieved this award winning exhibition.
We have also used donations to help us expand our events offer – we bought a lot of Lego with this money that allows us to put on Lego Play Days regularly. This money also allowed us to bring in a professional crafts organiser and buy materials for more and better craft activities.
If you would like to make a donation, there are donation boxes at the Museum.
Your donations mean a lot to us so thank you for anything you can give.
