Entry to the museum is free although donations to cover costs and help us to continue offering exciting exhibitions and fun events are always welcome.

The museum does not have any onsite parking but there are plenty of town centre car parks less than a 5 minute walk away.
Toilets and Baby Changing
Toilets are on the ground floor and include accessible toilets and baby changing facilities.
Food and drink
The museum doesn’t currently have an onsite café, there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Please note: Food and drink cannot be consumed in the museum or art gallery.
The museum shop sells a wide range of local books, gifts and souvenirs as well as a variety of pocket money items and toys for children of all ages.
We welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs.

Junction 29 of the M1 motorway is just 10 minutes from Chesterfield via the A617.
By Bus and Coach
There are regular local bus services into Chesterfield town centre and National Express operate regular services to and from Chesterfield. Chesterfield Museum is only a 10 minute walk away from Chesterfield Coach Station.
Chesterfield is on a major train route, just 1¾ hours from London and 15 minutes from Sheffield with through trains from Manchester, Birmingham, York, Newcastle and Bristol. Chesterfield Museum is only a 5 minute walk from the railway station.
