The trails are designed to help families explore the museum and exhibitions together.

Family facilities

Baby care

Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor toilets. There are accessible toilets on the ground floor.

Bags and buggies

Buggies are welcome in the museum. All floors are accessible by lift. There are no cloakroom facilities in the museum. 

Food and drink

Please don't eat in the museum. There are no cafe facilities in the museum, but there is a large selection within walking distance.


The museum shop sells a diverse selection of books and gifts, many at pocket-money prices. 

Disabled visitors

Parking for disabled badge holders is situated on Corporation Street outside of the museum. The museum has wheelchair access. Please speak to museum staff for details. To help make the most of your visit to Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery, please read our access statement.

Explore Revolution House

Unfortunately, the House has no toilet facilities. There is a small slection of gifts on sale. There is wheelchair access to the ground floor but the first floor can only be reached by a narrow staircase.
