Chesterfield Borough Council Walk With Us - Holmebrook Valley Park Walk
Every Thursday at 10.30am
We walk for 45 minutes to one hour in Chesterfield's largest park that includes open water, woodlands and hay meadows. Please note the park has hills and some uneven paths.
Meet by the cafe in park pavilion (top car park) Holmebrook Valley Park, Watermeadow Lane, Chesterfield, S41 8XP.
Chesterfield Borough Council Walk With Us - Hunloke Gardens Walk
Suspended until further notice - we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Come and enjoy this hidden gem and its surrounding area on a 30-60 min walk refreshments available and a chance to buy fresh produce from the garden.
Limited parking at the centre term-time, on street parking and bus 39 runs nearby. Meet at the cabins at Hunloke Community Gardens, Church Street South, S40 2TF.
Chesterfield Borough Council Walk With Us - Queen’s Park Buggy Walk
Every Friday from at 10.30am
Our buggy walks are a free sociable activity for parents and carers with their baby - a great way to make new friends, explore your local area and get fit whilst having fun.
Babies and children attending buggy walks are the responsibility of parent or carer and must always be under their supervision.
Meet outside reception at Queen’s Park Sports Centre.

Live Life Better Derbyshire - Exercise in the park
Every Thursday 1.00pm - 1.45pm
Free exercise sessions at Staveley King George V Playing Fields, suitable for beginners or people looking to get back to exercise. Booking is essential, please call 0800 085 2299.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning
Parkrun is a free, weekly, community event all around the world. It is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. You can learn new skills and enhance your health and happiness in the great outdoors whilst making new friends, feeling part of your local community and improving your fitness.
Saturday morning 5k events take place in parks and open spaces. On Sunday mornings, there are 2k junior park runs for children aged four to ten.
The weekly free 5km timed run at Poolsbrook Country Park starts every Saturday at 9.00am. Anyone taking part should arrive at around 8.45am, and first-timers should meet by the pavilion café for a briefing. Find out more on the Poolsbrook Parkrun Facebook page.
Remember to register beforehand, print your barcode, and bring it with you to the run.
Spital Cemetery Heritage Walking Tours
Second Sunday of every month 1.00pm - 2.00pm
Situated three quarters of a mile from the town centre, Spital Cemetery contains a number of fine memorials, which provide an interesting insight into Chesterfield's social, political, cultural and economic history from the 19th century.
Friends of Spital Cemetery host Heritage Walking Tours from 1pm to 2pm on the second Sunday of every month. Why not join in on Sun 11 July and find out more about this quiet green corner of Chesterfield?

Adapted Cycling Taster Session
First Friday of every month.
Open cycling session for those with disabilities and their carers. Meet at Queen’s Park cricket pavilion. Find out more on the Inclusive Pedals website.
Dr Bike Workshop
First Saturday of every month.
Hosted in Queen's Park car park. Trained cycle mechanics provide bike checks, adjustments and repairs for free. Booking is required, find out more on the Inclusive Pedals website.
Hasland Walk This Way walking group
The Walk This Way group offers friendly walks in the Hasland and Grassmoor areas, suitable for a range of ability levels with options from 30 to 90 minutes long. Supported by the Grassland Hasmoor Big Local project, they meet on the second Monday of each month at 10.00am at Hasland Working Men’s Club, Hampton Street, Chesterfield S41 0LH.
