Two local good causes are benefitting from funds raised by the mayor’s appeal in the past year.
During the mayoralty of Councillor Stuart Brittain and his wife and mayoress, Mrs Anne Brittain, during 2018-19, a total of £16,857.13 was raised through a series of events.
This has been shared equally between the chosen mayoral charities Ashgate Hospicecare and Citizens’ Advice Chesterfield.
Councillor Brittain said: “I’m thrilled to be able to present these two worthy causes with a cheque for £8,428.56 each.
“Thank you to everyone who has been so generous and who supported Anne and me during our time as mayor and mayoress.”
