Plant sale to launch Chesterfield in Bloom

Green fingered Chesterfield residents can make their way to the market place for a special event to launch the Chesterfield in Bloom competition.

The launch event for Chesterfield in Bloom, which is a community project led by Chesterfield Borough Council, takes place on Saturday 23 April from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Businesses including Dunston Hall Garden Centre, Unstone Plant Centre, Hunloke Community Garden and Big Red Food Shed will have stalls.

Councillor Chris Ludlow, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Chesterfield in Bloom is a great way for people to help to improve our environment, not just with pretty flowers but by keeping our borough tidy and well-cared for.

“I’d encourage anyone to come along to the launch event and plant sale to find out more.”

Chesterfield in Bloom volunteers will also be on hand to answer questions about the campaign.

To be part of the Chesterfield in Bloom committee or to volunteer to take part in the campaign, please contact John Ramsey by email: or call 01246 345097.
