Chesterfield residents were able to find out more about the devolution deal offered by the Government in a series of events held last week.
A public meeting was held at the Winding Wheel on Monday 11 July followed by a drop-in event at the Market Hall on Friday 15 July.
The deal, negotiated by the Sheffield City Region, would see Chesterfield benefit from a share of £900 million over 30 years and £484 million over the next five years to grow the local economy.
The deal is an economic one, Chesterfield will firmly remain part of Derbyshire. Chesterfield Borough Council will continue to provide all services as at present.
The consultation runs until Friday 12 August.
More information on the devolution deal is available on the devolution pages
