Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule to meet youngsters at Chesterfield Market Hall this Christmas.
He will take up residence in his grotto upstairs on the mezzanine floor overlooking the Market Hall stalls. Visitors can get to the grotto by using the entrance to the Assembly Rooms, opposite the old Post Office building.
Children wanting to tell Santa their Christmas present wish lists can see him on the following dates from 11am to 3pm:
- Saturday 26 November
- Saturday 3 December
- Saturday 10 to Monday 12 December
- Thursday 15 to Friday 23 December.
There is no need to book in advance.
A visit to see Santa will cost £3.50 per child and each child will receive a present.
Santa says: “Christmas is an extremely busy time of year for me but I know how many good boys and girls there are in Chesterfield, so I am leaving the present preparation to the elves and taking the time to meet children at the Market Hall.
“Do come along and see me – you will get a present from me. Ho, ho, ho!”
Councillor Amanda Serjeant, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for town centre and visitor economy added: “I know there will be lots of children in Chesterfield hoping to see Santa, this is why we put in a special request for him to come along and meet youngsters in Chesterfield Market Hall.
“It’s also a great opportunity for people to come along and support Chesterfield businesses by taking advantage of the variety of stalls available in the market, Market Hall and the shops in Chesterfield town centre.”
