Chesterfield Borough Council’s community safety team, in partnership with Derbyshire Constabulary, has been successful in taking legal action at a property in the borough, putting an end to distress for concerned neighbours.
Following concerns from neighbours about the persistent anti-social behaviour at a property on Sterland Street, Brampton, Chesterfield Magistrates Court granted a three-month Partial Closure Order notice for the house.
The order follows numerous reports of anti-social behaviour at the property dating back to 2023. Issues initially related to noise nuisance, but concerns have since escalated to include drug‑related activity and disorder.
The Partial Closure Order means that nobody other than the tenant, council officers, emergency services or other specified services can attend the property. Anyone breaching the order is liable to arrest. One person has already been arrested for breaching the order.
The council will be installing CCTV at the location and conducting regular high visibility patrols to ensure that the terms of the order are followed. Members of the public are also encouraged to continue reporting any breaches or concerns to Derbyshire Constabulary so that appropriate action can be taken.
