Social events and activities

We arrange events, outings and activities to help you feel part of your local community.

We work with local housing schemes and community rooms to organise one-off events and more regular activities for local residents.

Activities

A wide variety of activities are regularly organised across the housing schemes and community rooms in Chesterfield; each housing scheme has its own timetable of weekly activities and they open to everyone.

Regular activities that take place include: chair based exercises, bingo, play your cards right, dominoes, crafting, coffee mornings or afternoons. There are often refreshments at the end and an opportunity to chat with other members of the groups.

Events

Events are organised with the housing schemes and community rooms and are advertised locally. Events include supporting Macmillan’s coffee morning, Christmas parties, reminiscence events, garden parties and safety talks.

Group WebOutings

Throughout the year, a number of outings are arranged by residents of the housing schemes. These range from a day at the races to a leisurely trip down the river Trent with a meal, and are open to all.
