The council commissioned consultants Amec Foster Wheeler to produce a Scoping Report as part of the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Chesterfield Local Plan.
A sustainability appraisal is carried out alongside plan preparation and is a process that assesses the environmental, social and economic effects of proposals and policies within the Local Plan. Scoping is the process of deciding the scope and level of detail of a sustainability appraisal, including the environmental effects and alternatives which need to be considered, the assessment methods to be used, and the proposed structure and contents of the sustainability appraisal report.
We carried out a consultation on the scoping report between 19 October 2016 and 23 November 2016.
