Lifesaving

More than 700 people drown in the UK and Ireland every year, more than from domestic fires or cycling accidents.

Our lifesaving classes start from as young as 8 years old in our Rookie programme once they have progressed through Rookie they will continue into our Survive and Save programme.

Rookie Lifeguard programme

This is a fun and exciting lifesaving awards scheme for children age 8-12 years old.

It teaches children to be safe in the water through teaching; self-rescue, survival rescue and lifesaving sport skills.
Children can progress through four different awards; Bronze, Silver, Gold and Master.

Classes at Healthy Living Centre
Saturday: 11am to 11.30am Bronze, 11.30am to 12.30pm Silver, Gold and Master

Classes at Queen's Park Sports Centre
Monday: 6pm to 6.30pm Bronze, 6.30pm to 7.30pm Silver, Gold and Master

Survive and Save 

Every Monday at Queen's Park Sports Centre
6pm to 8pm with Ali - Lifesaving awards programme for teens (age 12+) and adults. Developing essential lifesaving skills and swimming fitness.

The awards are challenging but fun to complete and are arranged into Bronze, Silver and Gold levels to ensure that participants continue to develop lifesaving skills as they progress through the awards.

The awards teach; CPR, water safety, self-rescue, survival, rescue and lifesaving sport skills and also develop swimming ability and fitness. Awards available at Queen's Park Sports Centre are; Medallion and Sports Awards.

The course is developed by the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS).
