Borough and Parish Elections 2 May 2019

Borough and parish council elections will take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

There will be elections for 48 Chesterfield Borough Council ward members, 17 Staveley Parish councillors and ten Brimington Parish councillors.

  • Briefing for potential borough and parish candidates and election agents

    Briefings will be held on the following dates:

    • Thursday 7 March – 6pm, Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S40 1LP
    • Tuesday 12 March – 6pm, Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S40 1LP
    • Tuesday 19 March – 6pm, Speedwell Rooms, Inkersall Road, Staveley, Chesterfield S43 3JL

    • Register to vote
    • Register by Friday 12 April to vote in the borough and parish councillor elections on 2 May 2019. You don’t need to register again if you’ve already registered to vote.

  • Apply to vote by proxy 
  • The deadline for registering for a proxy vote is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April  2019.

    This is the last opportunity for anyone who knows that they will not be able to get to their polling station on 2 May to put absent voting arrangements in place.
