Notice of an Interim Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places – Hollingwood and Inkersall Ward
The Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006.
The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013
We are carrying out an interim review of the polling districts and polling station locations in the Hollingwood and Inkersall Ward – Polling Districts GA2 and GA3.
A review is legally required as Inkersall Methodist Church at 1 Summerskill Green, Inkersall, Chesterfield, S43 3SR, which currently acts as the polling stations for both the GA2 and GA3 districts, can no longer be used due to structural defects.
Replacement polling stations have been proposed at The Hollies, Sutton Crescent, Inkersall, Chesterfield, S43 3SP and The Hop Flower, Beeley Close, Inkersall, Chesterfield, S43 3EB; this will require the re-drawing of the polling districts.
A consultation on the proposed new polling stations was carried out, and the deadline for comments, either in support or opposing the proposals, was Wednesday 24 October 2018.
The council’s Employment and General Committee will consider the review recommendations at a meeting on 14 January 2019. The agreed proposals will be included in the Revised Electoral Register which will be published on 1 February 2019.
This will ensure the new polling districts and polling stations are in place in time for the Chesterfield Borough Council and parish council elections on 2 May 2019.
Representations that have been received are available to view below.
