The Queen's Green Canopy
The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative to help mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.”
People across the country – from individuals, groups, schools and communities to larger organisations and businesses – are being encouraged to plant trees during two designated phases, from now until the end of March, and through autumn, towards the end of the Jubilee year.
We can all play our part by coming together to plant trees - which that will not only help us to celebrate this historic milestone but will also help increase biodiversity across out borough.
Although we are approaching the end of the spring planting season, The Queen’s Green Canopy planting extends throughout the whole year so there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved this this coming autumn.
How to get involved:
For further information on how you can get involved, visit The Queen’s Green Canopy website following the links below.
Further information and advice on what trees to plan, and where and when to plant them can also be found on the Queen’s Green Canopy website.
If you wish to plan to public land, you will need to obtain permission from Chesterfield Brough Council. Please email email@example.com and one of the team will be happy to discuss the options with you.
