Too early

Please wait until the correct date.

There’s more to the Museum than exhibitions and events, just look at the list on the left hand menu for an idea.

We have a large number of loan boxes which include education boxes for use in schools and memory boxes that can help older people and people living with dementia reminisce about their past. Items in these boxes are designed to spark memories and encourage discussion. We also have a series of short memory box videos which explore the different boxes and their contents.

We’re always looking for volunteers in a variety of roles. Would you like to help visitors make the most of their time in the museum by volunteering with our front of house team? Could you be an ambassador for the Museum, promoting our services to local organisations? Would you like to help out with our events? Do you like gardening? If so, would you like to look after the upkeep of the Revolution House garden?

If any of these appeal to you, find out more or submit an application on our volunteering page.

We love to receive groups at the Museum, whether it’s a school, a local organisation or a large family group. Everyone is welcome on days when the Museum is open to the public but, if you want something specific, we can open the Museum just for your group on a Tuesday or Wednesday, although there will be a charge to cover our staff costs. Tell us what you want and we’ll do our best to design a day that fits. Find out more on our school or group visits pages.
