Lord Thomas Stanley Retinue re-enactment group will be exploring medieval life with displays, talks and demonstrations as well as interactive bill drills for kids to take part in.
The encampment will include:
- tents with craft displays for visitors to look at
- medieval quests and leather working demonstrations
- a talk on period foods and what would have been eaten
- show and tell with arms and armour where the kids can hold the weapons, or try on a helmet
- Interactive Kids bill drills
The fabulous Medieval Princes will also be performing traditional Medieval music throughout the day.
Performances will be at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and they will be playing period instruments including the Cittern, Lute, Crumhorns and Flute.

We are also hosting a Medieval Medicine event at the same venue on Saturday 9 August which explores cures, medicine and surgery used in the medieval period.
We recommend that all children are accompanied by a responsible adult.
