Chesterfield Museum closure

Chesterfield Museum has closed ahead of ambitious plans to refurbish and reimagine the Grade 2 listed Stephenson Memorial Hall, which is home to both the Museum and the Pomegranate Theatre.

In order for the plans to go ahead, the museum collection housed onsite has to be moved to safe storage elsewhere. This is a complex task which can’t be completed while the Museum is open to the public. Work will start on the building itself in the summer and the Museum will open in its new home in 2025.

Find out what we will be doing whilst we are closed in our What's On section  and our Facebook page. Or find out more about plans for the Stephenson Memorial Hall.

Although the Museum is closed, Revolution House will be open, why not pay us a visit?
