Gambling Act 2005
We have a duty to licence premises where gambling is to take place, this includes registering small society lotteries.
Licensing authorities are required by the Gambling Act 2005 to review and publish their statement of principles, which they propose to apply when exercising their functions under the Act, every three years. The latest statement is available below, along with the responsible authorities for gambling and the appropriate fees.
The council produced a draft 'Statement of Principles' which went out for public consultation and closed on Wednesday 22 December 2021. The draft had the following update:
- Update to Appendix 2 within the Statement of principles to show the maximum stake for Category B2 gaming machines has been reduced from £100 to £2
The new ‘Statement of Principles’ will be published in 2022.
