Funding has supported the first phase of The Moorings at Staveley Basin, a mixed-use development centred around the Staveley Canal Basin.
Work started on site in Summer 2024 and was completed in Summer 2025.
The Moorings at Staveley Basin is an attractive building offering six office units on the first floor available to rent ranging in size from 450 square foot to 750 square foot.
On the ground floor there are units suitable for retail use and a larger area that will be used for a restaurant or café-bar. The restaurant area overlooks the canal basin and has an outdoor dining area.
The project has also included the creation of a new access road and a new footpath.

This project should encourage more visitors to use the canal and will also create space for around ten new businesses.
