Chesterfield Markets provide a low-risk way to start or grow a retail business at the centre of a historic market town – with modern facilities, council-backed support and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant trader community.
Our historic market has been revitalised and provides traders a place to start and grow their business. We provide modern permanent stalls with power, lighting and weather protection.
Recent refurbishment has improved paving and sight lines to create and enhanced environment which draws customers in and creates a fantastic experience for shoppers.
We host a variety of markets throughout the week including our general market on Monday, Friday and Saturday, and our popular flea market on Thursday. Trading hours are from 9am to 4pm on all market days.
Our stall prices remain some of the lowest in the region and new traders can benefit from an introductory offer, with their first four trading sessions on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays, costing just £10 per day.

There are no long-term contracts required to trade on Chesterfield Markets, giving you the flexibility to run your business your way.

Chesterfield Market Hall
Our Victorian Market Hall was refurbished in 2013 and provides small, independent businesses with fantastic facilities.
We often have stalls available for new businesses, providing an affordable way for businesses to have a permanent presence in the town centre and grow their customer base.
With specialist food stalls and walk in general goods stores inside the hall and a selection of shops with private entrances on the exterior of the Market Hall, we can cater to a wide range of businesses.

Speciality Sundays
We work with private providers to host speciality markets on select Sunday’s each month, if you are interested in trading please contact the providers directly.
Chesterfield Artisan Market is held on the last Sunday of each month. Featuring a wide range of handmade and artisan products including foods, handcrafted jewellery, bespoke artwork, and one-of-a-kind homeware items. This established market provides a great opportunity to sell your products to new customers.

On the second Sunday of each month is Chesterfield Record Fair. Organised by AA Record Fairs the event features traders from across the country selling records, tapes and other music memorabilia.
