Food safety

We protect public health by enforcing food safety and hygiene at food premises in Chesterfield.

We do this by:

• registering and approving food businesses
• investigating complaints about food and food premises
• investigating suspected food poisoning
• carrying out food sampling
• responding to food alerts and recalls 

We also give help and advice to new and existing businesses on any aspect of food safety.
