Climate Action Challenge (competition) terms and conditions

Introduction

1. The promoter for this competition is Chesterfield Borough Council, Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S41 1LP (the "Promoter").

Closing date

2. The competition will end at midnight (BST) on 9 June 2025 (the “Closing Date”).

How to enter

3. To enter, Participants must submit a photograph demonstrating their completed activity (for example, encouraging wildlife by building a birdbox, pot or pond) via the online entry form URL address:  chesterfieldboroughcouncil.welcomesyourfeedback.net/s/7w88qt

Winner selection

4. The winner of the competition will be drawn at random and will be announced on social media. Contact will also be made directly with the winner using the email address or phone number provided.

Eligibility

5.1 The competition is open only to Participants who:

  • are aged 18 or over; and
  • are residents of Chesterfield (the "Participants")

5.2 Employees and contractors of the Promoter are not eligible to enter.

5.3 More than one entry per household address is allowed.

5.4 By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and to claim the prize. The Promoter may require proof of eligibility.

The prize

6. The prize includes a high street shopping voucher worth up to £50 from Love2shop, along with a one-year subscription to the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

Winner notification

7.1 Winners will be notified within five working days via the contact details provided with their entry.

7.2 If a winner cannot be contacted within five working days, they will forfeit the prize, and a replacement winner may be selected.

7.3 Please allow up to 28 days for delivery of the prize.

Conditions of entry

8.1 The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

8.2 The Promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

8.3 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition due to unforeseen circumstances.

8.4 Pictures should not contain a personal image of yourself or anyone else.

8.5 We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language.

8.6 Entries can be submitted individually or as a team.

8.7 Entrants can have more than one entry for each different activity completed.

Data protection and photographs

9.1 By entering, you consent to the Promoter processing your personal data (including name, contact details, and submitted photograph) for the purposes of administering the competition.

9.2 Personal data will be securely stored and deleted 30 days after the competition closes, unless you consent to further contact.

9.3 Submitted photographs must not include identifiable images of minors or other individuals. Entries that do not comply may be disqualified.

General

10.1 The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any participant who breaches these terms.

10.2 The Promoter reserves the right to void, suspend, or amend the competition if necessary.

10.3 The competition is governed by English Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
