  • Coronavirus - Leisure service updates: 

    Leisure Centres to close from 10pm Wednesday 30 December 2020

    Following the latest Government announcement that Derbyshire will be moving to Tier 4, we are sorry to say that once again our centres will be closing.

    Our centres will close at 10pm this evening until further notice.

    More information will be added to our website and social media channels in the following days.

    We will continue to offer daily online workouts to help keep you active whilst at home.


    Due to the timing of the Government announcement it is not possible for us to stop direct debit collections for 1 January 2021.

    If your direct debit is usually collected on the first of the month, no payment will be taken in the first month back after reopening. Other direct debits will not be collected during this period. Anyone with a pre-paid membership will have the closure period added to the end of the current contract.

The Healthy Living Centre at Staveley offers top class health, sport and leisure facilities for Chesterfield.

We offer a wide variety of activities for people of all ages and abilities at affordable prices. The Healthy Living Centre lets you, your friends and family get active and enjoy a happy and healthy lifestyle using local facilities.

The centre is easily accessible by pedestrian routes through Staveley town centre. We are also walking distance from Poolsbrook Country Park.

Monday to Friday: 6.30am to 10pm
Saturday: 8am to 6pm
Sunday: 9am to 8pm

We open for early morning sessions.

How to find us

By bus

The main bus terminal is situated directly opposite the centre. The 77 bus runs from Chesterfield to Barlborough and the 46 connects Bolsover, Arkwright and Calow, also calling at Chesterfield.

By car

The entrance to the the centre is off Barlow Road via Market Street. Free parking is provided on site at the front and adjacent to the building. There are disabled car parking bays located close to the centre and automatic access doors for easy access to the building.

Chesterfield Borough Council aims to reduce the impact of travel on the enviromnent, so wherever possible please travel by public transport, car share, walk or cycle to the centre.

The swimming pool has a hoist so that disabled user groups can easily gain access to the pool through the push of a button.
