You will be needed to demonstrate previous success in development management along with a track record showing your extensive experience.

By doing this to the highest standards you will not only play a key role in ensuring that we continue to meet performance targets but crucially improve the quality of development and ensure development is based firmly on sustainable design principles.

We’re looking to grow our service to manage the ambitious programme of development and new posts have been created within the Planning Service.

You will handle your own case-load of major and complex applications and appeals. We are looking for an experienced Planner with strong professional skills, sound planning judgement, a good eye for design, as well as a commitment to customer care.

You will play your part in ensuring that the Council’s excellent performance record is maintained and that there is ongoing improvement in the delivery of the service.

As our service expands, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team delivering a professional, consistent and quality service to over 4200 customers in the North Derbyshire area. We are a TSA accredited 24/7 call monitoring and response service that is fast developing to meet the increasing needs of our communities, designing and installing careline packages that help people maintain independent living in their own homes.

You will handle calls from customers, potentially in emergency situations, making informed decisions, and attending calls for assistance. Helping customers who have fallen to be lifted using specialist equipment and liaising with other services.

There is so much more to this position than meets the eye, it’s a role where you can make a big difference.

If the following describes you, this could be the next exciting step in your career:

  • Understand the needs of older and vulnerable people. 
  • Able to communicate sensitively and effectively with vulnerable people of all ages and cognitive ability.
  • Able to work under pressure, using your own initiative, with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of using computer systems, able to accurately input and extract information.
  • Have a current Drivers Licence which allows you to drive vehicles with a manual gearbox (a vehicle will be supplied to use during working time).

Job description and person specification

Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for a manager with proven experience of working in hospitality or entertainment programming, scheduling and hiring.

You would be responsible for the programming and hiring of the Pomegranate Theatre (590 seats), Winding Wheel Theatre (856 seats), Hasland Village Hall and Market Hall Assembly Rooms.

You will be responsible for the management of two staff.

You will have specific proven ability in contract negotiations and will have developed knowledge of the arts and entertainment, and/or hospitality industry.

You will be a proactive self-starter, good team worker, and have a creative and innovative approach.

You will be commercially astute, with experience of budget control; results driven and customers focused, and have excellent IT skills.
