Chesterfield town centre will be filled with fun, laughter, and magical moments in the lead up to Christmas.

From 12 noon to 3.30pm, enjoy street entertainment around the Market Place and town centre as you shop, eat, and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.

 

The Penguin FamilySaturday 29 November – The Penguin Family

Waddle your way over to meet Crumpet the Elf and his mischievous penguin friends!

These larger-than-life birds love to play, pose for photos, and might even chatter about their favourite fish. A delightful mix of puppetry, costumes and comedy that’s sure to charm the whole family.

 

Saturday 6 December – Kenny and Ronnie’s Christmas Market

Two cheeky cockney barrow boys bring their 'shop that comes to you' to town.

Expect bizarre inventions, quirky festive gadgets, and a good dose of banter – all delivered with festive tunes and plenty of laughs.

 

Carol Singing Christmas Crackers

Saturday 13 December – Bubble Beat Elves and Carol Singing Christmas Crackers

The Bubble Beat Elves will sneak about with their dance moves, giant bubbles, and festive fun, spreading Christmas cheer wherever they go.

Plus, keep an eye out for the Carol Singing Christmas Crackers – full of jokes, songs, and audience fun. Children will love them, parents will laugh at them, and everyone can join in with their 'name that tune' singalong!

 

Friday 19 December – Giant Juggling Elves

Mischievous elves on stilts will dazzle you with circus tricks, comedy and plenty of Christmas cheer.

Tall, funny, and unforgettable, they’ll have you ho-ho-ho-ing all afternoon.

 

Celebrity ReindeerSaturday 20 December – Bad Santas and Celebrity Reindeer

Get ready for Christmas like you’ve never seen it before! The Bad Santas bring breakdancing, music, and plenty of festive silliness on their mobile dance floor.

Meanwhile, Prancer and Dancer, two fabulous 'celebrity' reindeer, will strut through town with light-up antlers, cheeky moves, and plenty of gossip about Santa himself.

 

Monday 22 December – A Christmas Carriage

Scrooge and Mr Scratchit roll into town on a wildly decorated carriage. Expect music, laughter, and plenty of “bah humbug” from Scrooge – but the more he tries to spoil Christmas, the more fun you’ll have watching!

 

Inka the Polar Bear

Tuesday 23 December – Inka the Polar Bear

Step into a winter wonderland and meet Inka, a life-sized polar bear, along with her cubs and Sami companion. Gentle, awe-inspiring and interactive, this magical encounter is perfect for photos and a chance to reflect on the beauty of the Arctic.
