We provide activities during the school holidays to keep children active at both of our sports centres.

Queen's Park Sports Centre activities

We have a variety of activities going on over the holidays at Queen's Park Sports Centre for ages all ages including:

Activities can be booked in advance for most sessions by contacting reception. Payment must be made at the time of booking.

Splash sessions

Fun session including toys, floats and sinkers and is aimed at families, although children aged eight and above can attend unaccompanied as long as they are able to competently swim at least 50 metres in the main pool.

Booking essential for small pool admissions. Normal pool ratios apply.

It is advised that adults swimming without children avoid these sessions.

The pool will close 30 minutes before the start of the session to allow for set up and for other swimmers to vacate the changing area.

Price:

£5.30 (adult) £3.70 (children under 16)

Days and times:

Tuesday 1.30pm to 2.30pm, Friday 2.30pm to 3.30pm,Sunday 2.30pm to 4.00pm


Gymnastics and trampolining 

For ages five to 14 years old.

Children get a taste of the sessions we run at Queen’s Park Sports Centre.

In the gymnastics session children will learn skills on the floor, beam, vault and other apparatus.

Trampolining is great cardiovascular exercise that offers many physical and health benefits; fitness, coordination, strength development and flexibility.

Sessions are led by our fully-qualified British Gymnastics coaches.

Price:

£12 non member £10.50 members.

General swimming

Any child enrolled on our learn to swim or dry side programme is entitled to free swimming with a paying adult. We do this to encourage children to come along and practice their skills, as even just playing about in the water increases core strength and fitness levels. Swimming often will help children move up the stages faster.

Healthy Living Centre activities

We have a variety of pay-and-play activities going on in the school holidays at the Healthy Living Centre, including:

Activities can be booked in advance for most sessions by contacting reception. Payment must be made at the time of booking.


Children’s climbing club

Ages seven to 17 years old.

These session teach the basic skills of climbing such as safety issues, top-roping, bouldering, climbing techniques and is a great introduction to climbing.

Days and times:

Monday 28 October: 1pm to 2.30pm and 2.45pm to 4.15pm

Wednesday 30 October: 1.30pm to 3pm and 3.15pm to 4.45pm

Parent and toddler swimming

Join us for a splashtastic session in our pool aimed at children up to the age of five years old.

Our moveable floor will be raised to create a splash pad type area whilst our shallow end of the pool will also be available for this session.
Both spaces will have toys, floats and mats with music suitable for children also being played.

Add on a soft play session after the swim for just an additional £2.80.

Price:

£5.30 per adult with one child swimming for free

Days and times: 

Monday 1pm to 2.30pm
Thursdays 10am to 11:30am


Playzone

The playzone is set over five floors and is packed with fun activities to keep children busy. It is great for younger children to have fun in a safe and secure environment. With a mini climbing wall, ball pool, wave slide and helter-skelter there are plenty of ways for them to burn off all that spare energy.

Price:

£5.50 (reduced priced can be purchased for children under two years old)

Days and times:

Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm

Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm

Please note due to private parties taking place, the play zone is closed to the public at certain times. Please contact us to check opening times before visiting.

Discounted pre-paid ticket also available. Ten play sessions for the price of eight costing £44.
Tickets can be purchased at reception and must be presented on every visit.
Reduced tickets are available for children under two years old.
