Elections and voting

Chesterfield Borough Council does not have any scheduled elections on Thursday 7 May, other than two by-elections in the Staveley North and Staveley Woodthorpe wards.

The Staveley by-elections are due to vacancies in those wards. 

We elect all our 40 borough councillors every four years - the next scheduled polls are due to take place in 2027.

Vacancies have arisen for Chesterfield Borough councillors in the Staveley North ward, and a Staveley Parish councillor in the Woodthorpe ward.
