Increased connectivity across the town centre includes both physical improvements and digital improvements - during our public consultation in 2021, 74% of respondents were positive about these proposals.

Canal links

Improving the links between the town centre and the canal so it is easier for residents and visitors to navigate by foot or bicycle. This would include improved signage to help direct visitors to and around the town centre.

Wayfinding

The installation of new signage will help to improve connectivity within the town centre and encourage exploration, helping to raise awareness of businesses and local points of interest.

Digital connectivity

New town centre Wi-Fi will help to ensure that everyone can connect to the internet.

Lighting

A new lighting strategy that covers the entire town centre will help support the night time economy ensuring it is a more attractive place to visit at all hours and also providing better visibility on improved connections across the town centre.
