Apply now: Green Homes Grant – Local Authority Delivery Scheme

If you are a homeowner or residential landlord in Chesterfield, you can now apply for funding to make energy efficiency improvements to your property, to help keep your home warm and reduce energy bills.

The council has successfully secured £500,000 of funding from the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery and is now reaching out to residents to get in touch to see how the funding could help them.

The funding can be used to help cover the cost of a wide range of retrofit measures, including roof and wall insulation, double glazing windows, and other low carbon heating solutions.

You can apply for funding if you meet the following criteria. Once you’ve applied, the council will review your application to check your eligibility.

  • Your residential property is situated in Chesterfield

  • You own your own home (including long-leaseholders and shared ownership) or you are a residential landlord in the private rented sector

  • The homeowner or tenant have a combined gross annual household income of less than £30,000

  • The property has a low energy performance rating. For example, the property has an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating in band E, F or G, or does not have an EPC rating. You can find the energy efficiency rating of your home by looking on the EPC Register and entering your postcode and selecting your house from the list.

How to apply

Pease complete the online application form. Our dedicated team will then call you to confirm your details and arrange a home survey at a time that suits you.

A council representative will then visit your property to complete the home survey and determine what improvements are suitable for your home. We will follow Covid-safe guidance when visiting your home, however it is important that you let us know if you or a member of your household is self-isolating so we can rearrange as soon as possible.

Any energy efficiency improvements will then be completed by a Trustmark registered contractor.

All improvement works must be complete by 31 March 2021, so if you are eligible, please apply as soon as possible.
