Do you have experience supervising leisure centre operations and management of dry side programmes and their teams?
We are recruiting an Assistant Centre Manager to support the day-to-day running of our two busy leisure centres. This is a hands-on operational role, suitable only for candidates with previous experience in a leisure environment.
We welcome applicants with either of the following backgrounds:
Wet-Side Specialists (Pool-Based Operations)
- Managing swimming pools and lifeguard teams
- Knowledge of pool safety, compliance and plant operations
- Holding or working towards NPLQ, Pool Plant or First Aid qualifications
Dry-Side Specialists (Sports / Fitness Operations)
- Supervising gym, sports hall or activity programme delivery
- Experience managing dry-side activities such as gymnastics
- Leading and developing leisure attendants and activity coaches
Your Responsibilities
- Operational supervision of leisure facilities across shifts, ensuring smooth running of services
- Leading and motivating shift teams, acting as line manager to leisure attendants and/or coaches
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and presentation
- Supporting the Deputy Centre Manager with service improvement and customer experience delivery
- Responding to operational issues and providing reliable shift cover across a 6-week rolling rota (including early, late and weekend shifts)

- Experience working in public leisure or sports facilities
- Confidence in staff supervision, problem solving and customer engagement
- Flexibility to work across wet-side or dry-side areas depending on expertise
- Willingness to obtain additional industry qualifications where needed

- Week 1 – Thursday 6:15 to 14:00 and Friday 6:15 to 14:00
- Week 2 – Monday 13:30 to 22:15, Friday 13:30 to 22:15 and Saturday 15:00 to 20:30
- Week 3 – Thursday 13:30 to 22:15 and Sunday 7:30 to 15:15
- Week 4 – Monday 6:15 to 16:00, Thursday 6:15 to 14:00 and Friday 6:15 to 14:00
- Week 5 – Friday 13:30 to 22:15 and Saturday 15:00 to 20:30
- Week 6 – Thursday 13:30 to 22:15 and Sunday 7:30 to 15:15
