By-election results announced

There were two by-elections in Staveley on Thursday 7 May and the results have now been announced on our website. 

Two seats representing Staveley North ward, on Chesterfield Borough Council, were up for election. The persons elected for these seats are:

  • Steven Roy Barlow – Reform UK
  • Dawn Taylor – Reform UK

1264 people voted in the by election, making the turnout 34.2%.

Chesterfield Borough Council is made up of 40 councillors - 27 Labour Party councillors, 11 Liberal Democrat Party councillors, and 2 Reform UK councillors.

There was also a by-election for one seat representing Woodthorpe ward on Staveley Town Council. The person elected for this seat is: 

  • Paul Stephen Taylor – Reform UK 

590 people voted in the by election, making the turnout 32.6%.

Staveley Town Council is made up of 17 Councillors.

The next election scheduled for both Chesterfield Borough Council and Staveley Town Council is in May 2027.
